Taipei dominates tourism, but the island's small size makes regional escapes easy: beaches, tea plantations, and aboriginal culture lie just hours away, accessible by excellent public transit.

Taiwan Taoyuan (TPE) near Taipei is the primary hub; Kaohsiung (KHH) in the south handles secondary arrivals. Both are modern and organized. Immigration uses automated gates; queues form during peak hours but move steadily, usually 10–20 minutes end-to-end. English signage and staff are good, especially at Taoyuan.
